Ojców National Park Tour

Ojców National Park, the Poland's smallest and most charming national park, is situated in Lesser Poland district the Krakow-Czestochowa Upland (pol. Jura Krakowsko-Częstochowska) - a part of the Jurassic System of south Poland. The Ojców National Park is within easy reach from Krakow - it's just about 20 km away - what makes it undoubtedly a must-see place when visiting the Krakow.

In the Ojców National Park you can also see the Castle in Pieskowa Skała which was a part of the defensive chain of fortresses called "Eagles Nests"

The park is known for its variety of plant and animal species, ravines and unusual white, often odd-shaped limestone cliffs containing innumerable numbers of caves. The most famous rock formation is the "Hercules Club" - the limestone column with a height of 25 m (82 ft).

In the Ojców National Park you can also see the Castle in Pieskowa Skała which was a part of the defensive chain of fortresses called "Eagles Nests" (PL: Orle Gniazda). Although the first records about the castle are dated back to the XIV century we don't know when exactly it was built, but we do know, that the castle was transformed from Gothic to Renaissance style in the XVI century and from then the architectural style of the main buildings remains unchanged.

In Ojców National Park there is a one thing which everybody should try - the notable Ojców's trout. This trout from the restaurant's pond owes its amazing flavor to the unique, ecological breeding process and outstanding cooks.
