That's because one of the Kalwaria's churches is actually a world-famous sanctuary of Christ's Passion which was inscribed on the UNESCO list in 1999. The XVII centrury basilica is home for Benedictine monks. In one of the sanctuary's chapels there are marvelous image of Kalwarian's Blessed Virgin.
Around the basilica one can stumble upon the miraculous, historical gardens where you can find silence and purifying atmosphere. Kalwaria Zebrzydowska is perfect place for trip for everyone who seeks a great spiritual experience.
